Motor Scooter - Style of Scooters

Motor Scooter - Style of Scooters
A motor scooter can be divided into four types of models: Sport, Classic, Maxi, or Vintage. Whatever style and/or model you choose is dependent upon your needs and lifestyle choice.

Sport
tyle of motor scooters began in the early 1980 when Yamaha and Honda designed a motor scooter with sharper lines and fiberglass moldings.
in early 1990 the scooter manufacturer's attempted to emulate the "Crotch Rocket." Now nearly every motor scooter manufacturer offers a "Sport" model of scooter.

Classic
As the name implies, the classic motor scooter is what is traditionally thought of as being a motor scooter. Think of the Vespa that Audrey Hepburn and Gregory Peck rode in the 1950 movie classic Roman Holiday. The classic scooter is characterized by having a scooped front leg, shield with a round light on top, rear fenders that are rounded and a single cylinder engine. The retro model of motor scooters can be found in nearly all modern scooters.

Maximum
The maximum or maxi scooter is a scooter in name only. These motor scooters are built for performance and can reach speeds of over 100 mph. An example, of a classic model would be the Suzuki Bergman or the Honda Silverwing.
Vintage
As the name implies, the vintage style of motor scooters are classic scooters. They are typically more than 15 years old. Examples of this classic style would be the Cushman of the 1950s and Vespa of 1960. In 1960, Harley Davidson even manufactured a motor scooter. A vintage scooter though is not for the novice as a vintage scooter may have it's share of maintenance problems. However, for absolute style points a vintage scooter can not be beat.

Honda Motorcycle Maintenance

Honda Motorcycle Maintenance

Nothing could ruin your day more when you're driving in the countryside and then in the middle of nowhere, your Honda CBR motorcycle breaks down. All that because you never checked anything before you went out thinking, "I've checked that yesterday so there shouldn't be any problem."

It's important to check your motorcycle before you go for a ride. Maybe it would be too much for you to do it everyday but you have to do it at least before you go out especially for a very long ride. This ride can't just be hauled and you'll be spending hundreds of dollars because you missed one thing that led to another problem. So here are some of the things that you should check before going out, full throttle.

Tires - the most important of them all. Check the tires of your Honda motorcycle and make sure they are inflated properly. Under-inflated tires will take in heat faster than regular tires. With too much heat, the tire will blow up unexpectedly, and you'll be lucky if you don't have an accident because of blown tires. To make sure you have the digits correct, purchase a portable gauge to know the psi of your tires.

Brakes - most of the accidents come from the fact that brakes don't work. So before you go out and take the long ride, check your brakes. Make sure the break fluid in your motorcycle is enough. It's even better if it's. Check the front and back break fluids of your motorcycle. Check the break pads when you're at it. Thin break pads should be changed immediately. You don't want to realize that you don't have any break when you are already on the road and more than 60mph on your motorcycle.

Chains - It will not really cause major accidents but it will cripple your motorcycle to a halt. Before you go out and do a major road trip on your motorcycle, lubricate them before you even go out. You really don't need to do it everyday but at least do it every time you visit the gas station. This will ensure your chains will complement your rear tires and will not contrast to it. The last thing that you need in your motorcycle is a busted chain especially on a road trip since chains maybe the last thing you'll think will break.
Fuel and Oil - probably the most important for a smooth ride. You Honda CBR 600 will naturally stop if you don't have enough gas. For long rides, oil should be checked especially the oils in your break fluids.
Battery - You'll know you need one when you can't start anything electronically. Every light and signal that you'll need for your trip should be there. If it needs refill, do not use tap water. There's specific water for batteries and they are deionized water. Distilled water could also be an option.
These are the things that you should check before you go out even for a short ride. This will also ensure that your motorcycle will also last longer.

Honda Motorcycle Repair Manual

Due to the rising concerns over the environmental quality as well as the imposition of emission laws, Honda decided to focus more on producing greener motorcycles. In the field of producing motorcycles which have lesser emissions or in compliance to environmental laws, the Honda Company simply surfaces to be the one who cares most about preserving nature. In order to make cleaner motorcycle models possible, Honda branches around the world added more units in their production of 4-stroke motorcycles with lower displacements. You should start re-educating yourself if you are used to riding big bikes with displacements exceeding 400cc because now is not about speed and power, it's all about economy and practicality.

If we are to check the motorcycle repair manuals of the recent Honda motorcycle models, we will find out that their features are indeed intended to comply with environmental safety standards. Some of the popular Honda green motorcycles that are being manufactured around the globe today are Honda XRM from the Philippine branches which have 125cc and comply with the Euro 2 gas emission standard. This model is under the category of underbone motorcycles whose engine is being held under a single metal frame only. Honda actually has a wide range of underbone models varying from 100cc-150cc. Other recognized motorcycle units are the Honda dash 110, Honda nice 110, and Honda sonic 125cc-15-cc from Thailand. In the Philippines, Honda XRM is the most popular. No underbone motorcycle brand was able to surpass the market sales of the Honda XRM in the said country since the time it went into full production. There are also the Honda wave 110cc-125cc, and Honda dash 110cc.

Moreover, Honda is known to have the most affordable price range and for motorcycles and the most durable among the big 4. The big 4 is composed of top Japanese motorcycle brands including Kawasaki, Suzuki, and Yamaha. In addition, the instructions from the Honda motorcycle repair manuals are more user-friendly and even non motorcycle enthusiast can easily understand. Simple and understandable Honda motorcycle repair manuals are not the end of it. Honda also offers very affordable aftermarket parts for their green underbone motorcycles. The units are designed in such a way that the owners can still choose on a wide variety of modifications to make their models more unique.

It is also very important to know the importance of checking the Honda motorcycle repair manual every time you purchase a new unit. There are actually some people who do not care about looking at the manual because they are always more concerned on bringing their newly bought motorcycles to race on the street. This should not be the case. It is highly advised to take the instructions and specifications found in Honda motorcycle repair manuals into consideration because troubles and accidents may arise if you fail to do so. For instance, there are specific types of oils and gasoline to be used to specific units. The usage of other brands and specification outside what is written in the Honda motorcycle repair manual can seriously damage the engine or other parts.

Yamaha (YZF) 74 - The New R6

New R6
Yamaha (YZF) 74 - The New R6

The R6 is known to be as Yamaha's top street bike. It is Yamaha's monster that competes with Honda's CBR series, Suzuki GSX, and Kawasaki ZX. There are a lot of interesting features that the R6 possesses that would surely bewilder anyone who rides it in a positive way. Squeezing the throttle would let you ask yourself if you will just stop to save your dear life or take the beast into its limit to experience that one of a kind thrill and riding adventure.

The Yamaha motorcycle manual for the R6 provides that a fuel injection 600cc engine is mounted on the bike which could provide monstrous torque at 17,500 rpm redline. Such redline is 2000rpm higher than the previous model. It's Yamaha motorcycle repair manual even stated that the R6 has the highest tachometer redline of any four stroke motorcycle engine manufactured in 2006. It is also very comfortable to ride and won't strain you in your long driving because the foot peg is 5mm forward that allows for greater distribution of weight to the front portion. The foot pegs are elevated while the handle bars are low. It is much comfortable to actually ride it than what you will initially think when you just watch it.

Assuming that the specifications are accurate, it would already be leveled to the formula one engines wherein there are some problems with the valve spring stress. The solution to such then is to adopt a pneumatic valve actuation that is capable of handling more than 19,000rpm. However, many riders who have tried riding new R6 argues that there is actually a discrepancy between the actual rpm of this beast and the rpm which has been stated in its Yamaha motorcycle repair manual. Yamaha actually responded to this and said that the RPM is actually closer to 16,200. However, due to a deliberate error of tachometer which is 8%, it reads 17.000 on the tachometer. Going back in 2006, the company admitted that the real redline of the R6's engine is 100rpm lower than what is actually being displayed. They even offered to buy back their R6 models from their customers if they are not satisfied with it.

People might think that Yamaha fooled their customers with their Yamaha motorcycle repair manual's specifications for the R6 model. However, this is just a very minute concern because the bike is still excellent generally speaking. The acceleration is great and it will take a lot of nerves to bring the throttle to its limit. If you have 6 million Rs then you can already have one of these amazing bikes. There are still a lot of very cool things about this bike in its Yamaha motorcycle repair manual so you should not focus on the rpm alone. This model has the most stylish and robustly framed body on its class. Seeing it for the first time would let you think that it is like a bandit at night waiting for its next prey.
